Māui and the giant fish!
Here are 3 facts that I have learnt about Maui.
1. Maui is very persevering because he always keeps trying and never gives up.
2. Maui is a lifesaver because he brought our land to us by catching a giant fish.
3. Maui is a brave young man who loves adventures.
Maui is a famous Maori legend who loves going on fun adventures. Maui has done many challenging things. Whenever Maui wants to do something difficult, his brothers always butt in and say "No, you are way to young". When his brothers say that to him he says to himself "No I'm not to young, I'm old enough".

ReplyDeleteAmazing, you have posted a lot about Māu! I love that you have included some additional information about him as well as the three facts, awesome stuff! Perhaps next time you could include a picture of Māui, I think the readers would want to see this wonderful brave young man.
This reminds me of when I learned the story about how Māui slowed the sun, it is such an interesting myth that I like to read from time to time. Do you know any other stories about Māui? Let me know if you do, so I can check them out!

ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome post you have created about Maui. I really like how you mentioned his incredible perseverance. I also think this is an important trait to recognise, as Maui always believed that he was going to be a great fisherman. Even though his brothers told him he was too small or young he did not believe that was the truth. He continued to strive towards his dream of being a great fisherman and now he is a legend around the world. If you were to become well known around the world, what would you like to be remembered for?
We have recently seen Maui appear on a movie that has attracted many children from all over the worlld. Can you think of what this movie is called? Can you think of any other stories where you have seen Maui appear?

ReplyDeleteMy name is Toeumu and i am a student in room 3 at Wesley Primary School. Amazing facts about Maui Cassandra, also very interesting. I totally agree that he keeps trying and never gives up. Maybe next time you could add a picture/photo to make it more interesting.
This reminds me of when i watched Moana. Have you watched Moana? do you know any other stories that include Maui? Good luck on your activity's over the summer/ school holidays.
